Working Principle
The light field camera records the direction and intensity information of light by adding a layer of microens array in front of the imaging plane of a traditional camera. During the shooting process, each micro-lens captures light from different directions, which carries the spatial position of the object. Through post-processing calculations, these light field information can be used to recalculate images at different depths, achieving post-adjustment of focus and perspective and can also obtain the three-dimensional information of the object.
Product Features
Advantages: The unique light field recording method gives it the advantage of post-adjustable focus perspective, providing more flexibility for photographic creation. After shooting, users can choose different focus positions and perspectives according to their needs and regenerate images.
Disadvantages: The is relatively low. Due to the introduction of the micro-lens array, the light is scattered, resulting in a decrease in the light energy received by each pixel point which affects the resolution of the image. In addition, the data processing is complex and requires powerful computing capabilities to process a large amount of light field data.
Application Scenarios
In the fields of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), the light field camera can capture the three-dimensional information of real scenes, providing users with more realistic immersive experience; in medical imaging, it can obtain the three-dimensional structural information of biological tissues, assisting doctors in diagnosing diseases and formulating treatment plans.
