Working Principle
The laser scanning camera scans objects by emitting laser beams, measuring the time or phase difference the emission of the laser beam to its reflection back from the object, and thus calculating the distance between each point on the object's surface and the camera. As the beam scans, the three-dimensional coordinate information of the object is obtained point by point, and finally the three-dimensional point cloud data of the object is generated. According to measurement principles, laser scanning cameras can be divided into time-of-flight (ToF) laser scanning and phase laser scanning.
Product Characteristics
Advantages: High precision, of obtaining very precise three-dimensional coordinate information of objects, suitable for applications with extremely high precision requirements, such as topographic surveying, architectural measurement, cultural relics protection etc. It can scan large areas of objects or scenes and obtain comprehensive three-dimensional data.
Disadvantages: The scanning speed is relatively slow, and it takes a time to obtain complete three-dimensional data, which is not suitable for dynamic scenes with high real-time requirements. In addition, the equipment cost is high, the volume is, and it is relatively inconvenient to carry and use.
Application Scenarios
In topographic surveying, it is used to accurately measure the topography and landform and provide basic data for geographic information systems (GIS); in architectural measurement, it can be used for three-dimensional modeling of buildings, and detect the structural integrity and dimensional of buildings; in the field of cultural relics protection, it can be used for high-precision three-dimensional scanning of cultural relics, and realize the digital preservation and research cultural relics.
